Jean Paul Riopelle Jean Paul Riopelle was one of Québec’s most famous painters, and its best-known internationally. Many of the spectacular variety of work he created are exhibited throughout the world. This legendary character, an abstract painter well-known for his huge mosaics, left his mark on the world of latest artwork. He was born in Montréal in 1923, and his career took off with the Automatism motion in the Nineteen Forties.
